A Real Life Love Story

Announcements

The LiteraryScape March Madness book edition will begin on Friday March 1st. This is a fun battle of the books as readers vote for their favorite book titles each week until we have a final winner. Last year Crystal Caudill’s book Counterfeit Love won the March Madness tournament. I cannot wait to see which book will be the winner in 2024! I wanted to thank everyone for your words of encouragement. Last week, our Writer’s Wednesday episodes kicked off with a bang. Our next Writer’s Wednesday episode will air next week. Author Liz Tolsma will share what deep POV is and how to write it.

How to Write Flash Fiction (and Why You Should)

Have you struggled through writing a synopsis or blurb for your novel and decided short-form fiction is NOT for you? Join us for our next expert training on Thursday, March 21st at 6:00pm EST. Author Abbey Downey will share how authors can leverage the power of Flash Fiction to grow their author platform. This class will not only give tips and tricks to make writing the shortest stories easier, but will also show you why you should try, and how flash fiction can help your writing career and marketing efforts.

Now, let’s dive into this week’s book discussion!

Episode Notes

In this episode Tiffanie and Melissa, discuss With This Pledge by Tamera Alexander. This is the first novel in her Carnton series. You will want to read her novella first titled, Christmas at Carnton.

Our discussion of this book was fun. The fact that this novel is based on real people and real events makes it so much more intriguing.

Topics we share our thoughts on:

·      How we handle medical emergencies scenes as readers.

·      Good men and evil men fought on both sides of the Civil War.

·      When we have Christ, we know the best is yet to come.

·      Men who laid down their lives on the battlefield for our freedom lost two lives.

·      God’s love and peace are like salve on a wound when we lose loved ones.

·      We have nothing to fear because we are God’s children.
