The Fresh Perspective: Witemeyer's decision to make the woman the wealthy one while the man comes from humble circumstances kept the familiar story feeling fresh and engaging. As one of our hosts noted, "It kept my attention right away—I had to finish it."
Family Values: We were particularly drawn to Asher's character and his devotion to family over wealth. Unlike traditional Cinderella retellings with wicked stepfamilies, Asher has a wonderful stepmother and loving half-brothers—a twist that added depth to the familiar framework.
